Red Hat Offers Tailored Pathways for CentOS Linux Migration to RHEL

With CentOS Linux reaching end-of-life (EOL), Red Hat has introduced four tailored in-place conversion pathways to simplify migration from CentOS Linux to RHEL, along with paid consulting services. For organizations not currently using RHEL, the Red Hat Lightspeed Conversion Tool provides a hosted, guided experience for connecting systems, viewing inventory, conducting pre-conversion analysis, and performing conversions. Existing RHEL users can leverage either the Red Hat Lightspeed Conversion Tool or the convert2rhel command-line tool, which supports on-site and cloud-based (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) conversions. For large-scale environments, Red Hat Satellite users can utilize integration with convert2rhel via Ansible roles and playbooks, while non-Satellite users and partners can use the Red Hat Satellite Conversion Toolkit. These pathways help organizations avoid unpatched vulnerabilities by ensuring a smooth transition while retaining existing tools, processes, and expertise.
